Key Responsibilities

One-on-One Counseling: Lead client intake and personalized counseling sessions focused on budgeting, credit improvement, and the home-buying journey.

Education & Advocacy: Facilitate engaging financial literacy and credit education workshops to empower community members.

Case Management: Monitor client progress, develop corrective action plans for those facing housing instability, and provide foreclosure prevention counseling.

Compliance: Maintain meticulous documentation and case files in strict accordance with HUD standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate possesses a diverse professional background and a passion for service.

Knowledge Base: A strong foundational understanding of Real Estate, Lending, Finance, or Insurance.

HUD Certification: Must obtain HUD Housing Counselor Certification within one year of employment (Mercy Housing will provide all necessary training classes and modules).

Public Speaking: Must be outgoing and comfortable leading classes, workshops, and community presentations.

Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills are required to track program outcomes and client data.

Travel: Ability to travel occasionally for professional development conferences and advanced education.

Tax Experience: Tax Preparation or Financial Inclination is a significant bonus for our VITA Tax Season, another key program we offer.
