Human Development

Staff members and Mercy Housing's Board of Directors work with clients and the local community's charitable and governmental organizations to help people develop their independent decision-making skills and build financial stability.

At Mercy Housing and Human Development we believe that all people have basic rights to dignity and compassion.  Further, we believe that people, as social beings, achieve their individual rights and dignity in relationship to others in the larger community.

Mercy Housing and Human Development strives to:

   - awaken people to their own dignity;

   - transform attitudes about oneself and others;

   - transform public perceptions regarding low-income families and communities;

   - build community purpose that is sustainable into future generations; and

   - assist low-income people to protect the dignity of their families and communities.
